A. Eligibility
- This competition is open to all homebrewers in the United States.
- Commercial and/or Brew-on-Premises (BOP) beers are not eligible.
- This is an AHA-sanctioned competition. All standard rules apply.
B. Entry Fees and Deadlines
- All entries must be registered online. The fee is $12/entry. Payment online is required. You can print your entry labels once payment is made.
- We accept online payments only. A link will be provided on your entry page to the payment site.
- You do not need to print a payment receipt. If an entry shows it has not been paid, we will verify on our side.
Rules and Policies
- Entries
- This competition has a cap of 475 paid entries.
- When the cap of 475 paid entries is reached, entries that have been registered but not paid for will not be eligible for FOAM Cup. Becuase of this, it is highly recommended that you pay for your entries when they are created.
- Entries can be edited before and after payment, up until the shipping/drop-off deadline.
- There is an initial cap of 7 entries person to give everyone desiring to enter the opportunity. This cap will be lifted after 14 days with no limits at that point.
- Judging, Storage, and Handling
- We will try to minimize handling to avoid disturbing bottle-conditioned beers with natural sedimentation. Occasionally this is unavoidable and scores for appearance may reflect this.
- All entries are stored cold till they are judged.
- Medals
- Brewing category winners will receive custom-cast medallions for first, second, and third place for each judging table. A table is defined as a judging session for a set of category styles. Tables may contain split categories and/or subcategories as necessary to maintain competition integrity.
- Judges are solely responsibility for determining whether an entry is deserving of a medal.
- Judges are solely responsible for determining whether a judging table should receive first, second, or third place medal, based on the scores of the entries. (e.g. The highest score awarded for the judging table is a 29, so judges determined a gold medal would not be awarded.)
- We will award Best of Show (BOS) medals for beer, mead, and cider. We will judge all beers, meads and ciders listed in the BJCP Styles Guidelines. All decisions of the judges, competition staff, and organizer will be final, without exception.
- Scores, Score Sheets, and Prize Delivery
- Winners and BOS are announced at an Awards Ceremony the evening of the last day of judging. Medals will be handed out to those in attendance.
- Score sheets are judged digitally and will be posted on your account page after winners have been announced. We ship medals and prizes to all non-local entrants via U.S. Post Office or other common carrier the week after the competition.

Packing and Shipping
Carefully pack your entries in a sturdy box. Line the inside of your carton with a plastic trash bag. Partition and pack each bottle with adequate packaging material. Please do not over pack!
Write clearly: Fragile. This Side Up. on the package. Please only use bubble wrap as your packing material. Do not use expanding foam or similar products.
Enclose each of your bottle labels in a small zip-top bag before attaching them to their respective bottles. This way it makes it possible for the organizer to identify specifically which entry has broken if there is damage during shipment.
Every reasonable effort will be made to contact entrants whose bottles have broken to make arrangements for sending replacement bottles.

Circuit Qualification
High Plains Brewer of the Year
FOAM Cup is a participating competition for the High Plains Brewer of the Year. This award goes to an individual brewer from the Midwestern United States (Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, or Minnesota) demonstrating outstanding and consistent brewing skills. The award winner is determined by performance in regional competitions. To be eligible, a brewer must reside in one of the aforementioned states or belong to an AHA-registered club from one of the states. The FOAM Cup Organizer will forward your FOAM Cup points to the HPBOTY organizers.
Master Homebrewer's Circuit of America
The Foam Cup has been selected as a representative for the state of Oklahoma in the Master Homebrewer Program’s Circuit of America 2024.
The Master Homebrewer Program's Circuit of America is a Homebrewing circuit, combining the results from all major independent homebrewing competitions across the United States, to award an overall National Champion Homebrewer.
